our Story

Gathering Friends and families around the table for 30 years.

It all started as a summer romance in Italy back in 1987 that brought Luca from his hometown of Borgo a Mozzano, outside of Lucca, Italy, to Sonoma County in 1988 to be with Linda, a native of Santa Rosa born to Italian immigrants. Within the year, Luca took a job as the Pastry Chef at Tra Vigne Restaurant in the Napa Valley relying on his family taught skills and experience working as a bread maker in Italy since the age of 14. At the time, Linda worked at John Ash & Co. in Santa Rosa as the Catering Manager using her office skills and love of cooking to create and organize special menus for large parties and events for the restaurant. Although their culinary skills were self-taught, they shared a dream of someday owning their own place and putting all of their family’s traditional recipes to good use. In June of 1990, one month before the two married, they purchased what was then Belmonte’s Deli. On October 5, 1990, Cafe Citti finally opened it’s doors after many long hours of hard work and anticipation. Linda and Luca have two beautiful children, Daniele and Isabella, who help out during summer vacations and special events. After 30 years of marriage, a lot of cooking and eating later, Cafe Citti moved to Santa Rosa and pivoted to take out only. It has been a long and exhausting journey, but we couldn’t have done it without the love, support, and patronage from all of you. Thank you for joining us! Mille Grazie e Buon Appetito!
